Alex Iwobi successfully recovered from injury as Fulham FC drew 1-1 against Wolverhampton Wanderers FC in an entertaining Premier League clash at Molineux on Sunday.
Returning to action after several weeks out with a hamstring injury, Iwobi brought calm and attacking spark to Fulham’s midfield as the visitors recovered from a difficult start after Wolves opened the scoring in the 25th minute through Mateus Mane, whose powerful shot from outside the area beat Bernd Leno after good work from Hwang Hee-chan.
The hosts looked dangerous for long periods, with Adam Armstrong hitting the post while Yerson Mosquera also threatened from set pieces.
Fulham slowly worked their way back into the match and found the equalizer in first-half stoppage time after a VAR review awarded them a penalty. Antonee Robinson calmly converted from the penalty spot to restore parity before the break.
The match also marked a personal milestone for Calvin Bassey, who made his 100th appearance for Fulham since joining from AFC Ajax in 2023.
There was more Nigerian involvement in the second half when Samuel Chukwueze came on for Fulham, while Tolu Arokodare came on for Wolves in search of a late goal.
Despite late pressure from both teams, goalkeepers José Sá and Bernd Leno made important saves to ensure points were shared in a match that offered encouraging signs for Nigeria ahead of the upcoming friendlies against Portugal and Poland.
