A rising striker at Emaijuss FC, Saheed Adekunle was deeply emotional on Thursday after his team qualified for the next round of the 1X Bet Cup 2024.

Emaijuss achieved the feat alongside Ilupeju-Ekiti Pillars and China Stats, but they achieved the largest margin of victory among all.
While Ilupeju-Ekiti beat City Sports 4-3 on penalties and China Stars edged out Inspire FC 1-0, Emaijuss thrashed Great Olympics 6-1.
The big win left Adekunle in absolute ecstasy, with the youngster revealing that he and his colleagues were really excited to have been able to advance to the next round of the glamorous competition.
He added: “It means a lot to us to be able to make it to the next round. Now we are thinking about who we will play next.”
“We are praying that we can get another victory and move on to the next stage.
“For now, I’m just excited to be able to move on to the next round. It’s something that excites me.”
One of his teammates, who simply identified himself as Wasiu, revealed that winning a 1X Bet medal made him happier than ever.
Wasiu said: “This medal means a lot to me. I have never won this kind of medal on 1X Bet before.
“This is the first time I have won a major award. I am very happy and very excited.”
The competition continues on its main stage this weekend, with the organisers promoting more excitement in the crucial stage of the contest funded by 1X Bet Limited.
