200 Chinese companies express interest in Nigeria

Over 200 Chinese companies showed strong interest in investing in Nigeria during the China-Nigeria Business Forum held in Beijing.

The event, part of the visit of Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, aimed to boost bilateral trade and investment between the nations.

Held on Friday, the forum facilitated matchmaking between businesses to deepen economic ties.

Participants included prominent Nigerian dignitaries such as Aisha Rimi, CEO of NIPC; KS Halilu, CEO of NASENI; Oluwaseun Fakuade, Commissioner for MISDE Ekiti; and leading figures from the Nigerian private sector such as Dr Adegboyega Oluwarotimi Austen-Peters, Bolanle Austen-Peters, Dr Ademola Sogunle, Bruce Ayonote, Tunde Hassan-Odukale, Olusegun Alebiosu and Jawad Saleh Mustapha.

In his keynote speech, Ambassador Tuggar highlighted the importance of Nigeria-China relations and the essential role of trade in promoting economic growth and diversification. He expressed expectation for further strengthening of partnerships during upcoming events, including the Nigeria-China Intergovernmental Committee meeting and the annual meeting of the new champions of the World Economic Forum in Dalian.
