2025 Budget proposal still under processing by the National Assembly – NCDC

NASS National Assembly

The North Central Development Commission (NCDC), explained that its proposed n140 billion budget for the tax year of 2025 is still subjected to control by the National Assembly, and still to be approved collectively by both rooms of the Parliament Apex.

This was contrary to the media relationships that suggest that the proposed budget may have obtained the absolute nod for the new commission.

A declaration by its executive director, Corporate Services, James Uuloko during the weekend, recalled that it was true that on September 30, 2025, the commission management appeared before the Senate to defend the budget proposal and had a solid session in which the members of the Senate Committee on NCDC examined the submission and received clarifications.

“After receiving explanations both at open and closed sessions, the Senate Committee made observations and adjustments before finally giving its approval pending a competition from the Chamber of Representatives before the final passage.

“Therefore, it is important to clarify that while the budget proposal of 140 billion naira has not been changed, the allocation of the figures mentioned in the media relations does not take into account the adjustments made, which will be reflected in the final document.

“The approved final budget will be determined only when the Commission of the Chamber of Representatives of the North Central Development Commission performs its legislative control and agrees with the Senate, in which the final data and the scheduled distributions will be authenticated and released,” he said.
