2027: Amaechi swears to stop the second term offer Tinubu

Former Minister of Transportation and Governor of Two Term of two Rivers, Rotimi Amaechi, had openly stated his intention to oppose the re -election of the Ball President Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election, quoting the allegations not to be sensitive to ordinary Nigeria’s situation.

Speaking on Wednesday at a general meeting held in respect of him at Port Harcourt International Airport, Amaechi officially announced his departure from the Congress of All Progressive (APC) and his harmony with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a party he described as a new political force committed to saving the country from the current economic and political crisis.

The former APC presidential candidate did not make small talk when he criticized the administration of President Tinubu, who said he failed to overcome poverty and hunger which was increasingly large throughout the country.

“If you are not bored with Tinubu, I’m bored with President Tinubu. If you are not hungry, I’m hungry,” Amaechi told cheering crowds. “The president said he was not here to make you happy. But ADC is here to make you happy.”

Amaechi urged the Nigerians, especially residents of the state of Rivers, to register with ADC and mobilize before the 2027 election. He said collective efforts were needed to end what he called “bad governance of Tinubu” and giving responsive leadership through ADC.

“This is only to convince our supporters and rivers that there is a new party in the city,” he said. “Everyone who thinks well about the state and state must move to register with a new party and ensure that we are removing the current government and stopping the hunger suffered by everyone.”

Amaechi stressed that ADC will uphold democratic principles in the internal selection process. On the party’s party ticket, he promised to support every candidate who appeared through a transparent and credible primer.

“Anyone who arises from preliminary selection. We insist on a free, fair and transparent process, we will all support anyone who appears,” he said.

Amaechi’s protection added momentum to the coalition that developed from the former political heavyweight which had violated the ranking with the ruling APC and the main opposition of the Democratic Party (PDP). Among those reported in the Anti-Tinubu Coalition were former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Governor Nasir El-Rufai from Kaduna State, former Governor of State Osun Rauf Aregbesola, and former Federation Government Secretary, Babachir Lawal.

In a hidden reference for past controversy about the election malpractice in the state of Rivers, Amaechi keeps away from individuals or factions related to the manipulation of election results.

“Rivers state is famous for writing results. When they write the results, they claim to have won,” he said. “I will not work with you if you work with kidnappers to announce the results.”
