The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed a viral report that claimed to reveal the cost of its expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2027 general elections, describing the information as false and misleading.
The report, released widely on Friday, said the party’s presidential hopefuls would be required to pay $200 million for nomination forms, while candidates seeking seats in state houses of assembly would pay $20 million.
In a statement released on Saturday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, clarified that the alleged price list did not come from the APC.
Morka said the party’s attention had been drawn to what he described as a false report circulating in several sections of the media regarding the price of nomination forms ahead of the 2027 elections.
He points out that the APC has not made any official decisions regarding the sale or price of nomination forms for the upcoming elections.
“To be clear, no decision or announcement has been made on the sale or pricing of forms for the 2027 election,” he said.
The APC spokesperson also dismissed the circulating report as unfounded, describing it as a product of disinformation intended to mislead the public.
The party, therefore, urged its members, the media and the general public to ignore the report completely, insisting that any official announcement on nomination forms would be communicated through the party’s appropriate channels.
