The 2023 vice presidential candidate from the Labor Party (LP), Datti Baba-Ahmed, has rejected the opposition coalition which recently drifted under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), described it as fraud and was unable to save Nigeria from the current state of retardation.
“They deceive us,” Baba-Ahmed said during the appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday night.
Baba-Ahmed, who was contested with Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential election won by the former Governor of the State Lagos and all the Progressive Congress Candidates (APC), Tinubu Bola, reiterated his commitment to Obi’s political ambition. He also stated the willingness to serve again as a running couple if former Governor Anambra appeared as a candidate in 2027.
Obi in recent weeks showed harmony with members of the ADC coalition, which reportedly included political heavy class such as former Senate President David Mark, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Governor of Rotifi Amaechi, and former Governor Osun Raufbesola.

However, Baba-Ahmed stated that Obi must remain within the labor party and lead the party’s accusations in the next election.
“I am in the labor party. I am a man Peter Obi. I still want Peter Obi to return to the Labor Party and fight for the 2027 election,” he said.
When asked whether he would consider serving as a couple who was running again in 2027, Baba-Ahmed answered: “If Nigeria is still there and there is an election system that must be followed. My love for Nigeria Abadi, and I will hang out with groups and individuals who think the same to restore Nigeria.”
He further stated that there were only two people he would represent, emphasizing: “The first hasn’t said anything. The second is Peter Obi. I am always with Peter Obi until he decided not to do it.”
