2027: Will the Governor Sule accept calls from the interested parties of Nasarawa?

In a decisive show of political solidarity, the interested parties of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of the Nasarawa North Senatorial District unanimously invited the governor Abdullahi to represent the area in the Senate at the end of his second term in 2027.

The resolution emerged from a meeting of the interested parties of the high level convened in Akwanga on Saturday 6 July 2025, positioning the district of the District as a candidate to succeed Senator Godya Akwashiki.

The press release issued and read by Mr. Timothy Anjide, former secretary of the government of the State of Nasarawa, at the end of the meeting, praised the exceptional performance of Sule and the prudent leadership as a driving force behind their charm.

Hon. Safiyanu Isa Saaha, calling the meeting and president of the local government area of Akwanga, said that the meeting aims to encourage party unity. “We are here to talk to ourselves. We have to try to put our complaints aside in the interest of the part. We have to work together like a people to advance”.

While emphasizing the meaning of the approval, the convocator appealed to governor Sule to listen to the call of his people and agree to apply for the Senate. “As you can see, from all three areas of the local government that constitute the area, 99 % of the parties concerned participated in the meeting. And there is a unanimous consent that the AA organs should contest in the general elections of 2027. My governor is a democrat. I hope he will answer this call from his people”.

At the center of the question of the parties concerned is the documentation of the tax discipline and transformative infrastructure by Sule, with the state commissioner for water resources Mohammed Muluku underlining the governor’s financial management. “The Governor Sule has severely learned that he did not borrow a single Kobo in the execution of all the projects we are seeing. Currently, the state of Nasarawa has over 20 billion in reserve as savings”.

This statement aligns the admiration of President Bola Tinubu during a recent state visit to commission the projects. He put aside his prepared speech to praise an effective management of Sule resources.

The interested parties cited projects, including the engineering company of the Akwanga underpass, the dualization of the intra-city roads, the Akwanga Byepass, the rural roads that connect the agricultural centers and the urban renewal initiatives in Lafia, how to form the command of their witnesses.

The former general manager of the governor’s campaign Sule in 2019, Senator John Danboyi encapsulated this prevalent atmosphere: “All the good things done by our governor are there for everyone to see. Also this seat of our meeting, we all knew the condition before.

Muluku has framed the senate offer as a cultural imperative, invoking a local proverb to emphasize the meaning of the mutual gesture of the area towards the son who is distinguishing himself at the service of the state. “A mother who sends her son in commissions several times and the son exceptionally offers, such a mother gives Kolanut as an appreciation. What kind of appreciation can we show the governor sule better than for him to go to the Senate? We all agree that after his mandate as governor, Engr Super should look for the elections to represent our area in the Senate”.

For Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, commissioner for the development of youth and sport, the parley provided a vital platform for the resolutions on the political trajectory of North Nasarawa, asking for the need to consolidate the earnings obtained under the current administration. “We unanimously supported Eng. Abdullahi A. Sule for the Nasarawa senatorial polling station in the next elections. The interested parties also declared an unrivaled support for the second -term offer of President Tinubu.

“This collective decision reflects the trust in the leadership and vision of both the governor Sule and the President Tinubu; and the commitment of the people of Nasarawa to the north towards sustainable development, inclusive governance and political stability”,.

Tony Bala Shammah, aspiring for the headquarters of the federal electoral college of Akwanga/Nasarawa-Eggon/Wamba, has framed the thrust of the Senate as mutually the commendable suranea of the development initiatives. “Today’s meeting concerns the meeting of those who are those in APC, people of Likeminds, to make sure there is unity, progress and show all that organ. Aa sule is doing and what is doing his tinubu. To pass equally votes of trust on them because whoever is good should be praised”.

In fact, the call of the Senate involves significant implications for Nasarawa’s 2027 electoral panorama. The move of Sule in the Senate could alleviate tensions by injecting fresh air and new ideas in the representation of the Senate in the Akwanga area, since the governor should bring his wealth of experience from the private sector organized and his eight years of administration of the State to support his representation.

The Governor Sule has to face a distinctive choice: he accepts an offer of the Senate who rewards his performance or the decline and fracture the unity that helped to forge in the area. While Nasarawa North marked his future on the engineer of modern Nasarawa, the political ecosystem awaits his response.
