Division 82 of the Nigerian army, on Saturday, graduated for 120 people for the mission of special intervention since its training for the strength of the special society at the division training school, Enugu.

Speaking at the height of training at the shooting range of the division in Udi near Enugu, the general officer of the commander (GOC) of the Division, Magg. Gen. Oluyemi Olateye, praised the staff graduated for their resilience and commitment.

Olateye, who is also the commander, the joint task force in the south-east, “UDA KA” operation, said that an eight-week combat intensive training has been designed to improve both conventional and asymmetrical war skills.

The Goc stated that training, which was an initiative of the head of the Army staff (Coas), Lieutenant Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, aligned with the philosophy of the Coas Command.

Olatoye said that the philosophy of the Coas command aimed to consolidate the transformation of the Nigerian army into a well -motivated and ready force for the combat that could actually download its constitutional responsibilities.

He added that training was part of the efforts under the Nigerian army to improve professionalism, leadership and guarantee the readiness to combat in all operating theaters.

The Goc urged graduates to apply the skills and knowledge acquired while embarking on future activities.

He observed that the division remained engaged in the construction of a formidable force through rigorous formation, strategic leadership and an unwavering dedication to the national service.

Previously, the division training officer, Brig.-Gen. MJ Abubakar, praised the staff for their exceptional resistance, teamwork and a spirit of combat.

Abubakar stressed that training was designed to simulate combat scenery in the real world, with a strong attention to the jungle war, counter-insurrection operations and internal security tactics.

He observed that graduate soldiers had been scheduled for employment on a special intervention mission in which they would apply the skills acquired in support of national security objectives.

The event presented demonstrations on stripping and assembly of the rifle, reinforced combat exercises, presentation of certificates.
