Following the backlash from fans, former Super Eagles head coach Finidi George has commented on Victor Osimhen’s anger towards him.
Recall that Osimhen hosted an Instagram Live on June 15, slamming the then national team coach for allegedly questioning his commitment to the team.
Fans expressed mixed emotions over the outburst, with some demanding that the attacker be punished by the Nigeria Football Federation.
In an interview, Finidi revealed that Osimhen, who has rejoined the team for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, has not apologised.
Finidi, who resigned the same day as the blast, acknowledged the disrespectful social media trolls, and that he did contact the attacker afterwards.

“I sent him a message that it was not the best way, just someone telling you the coach said that and you are talking about me like I said in an interview,” Finidi told Nigeria Info FM.
“Since then I haven’t heard from him again, I move on and pray for the best for everyone, only God can judge.”
Finidi also refused to comment on suggestions Osimhen should be banned from playing by the Super Eagles.
“I don’t know, he’s already there, just let him be.
“We can’t crucify him, he made a mistake, we have moved on and moved on.”
