‘Nemesis deals with El-Rufai for betraying Amaechi’ —ndume

MPs who represented the southern Senatorial District of Borno in the National Assembly, Senator Ali Ndume, had said that the fall between the former Governor of the State of Kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai and the President of the Tinubu Soccer was the result of nemesis that was dealing with him (El-Rufai) to betray the former Governor of the State Rivers, Amachi Roti for 2022.

Ndumed who made the statement when appearing as a guest on the main television program on Tuesday night, said the betrayal of El-Rufai to Amaechi and diverted his support to Tinubu clearly showed that he could not be trusted and the cracks between them were the result of distrust.

Among other things, Ndume, who is the Director General of President Rotimi Amaechi’s campaign, revealed that El-Rufai was in the Amaechi camp but suddenly shifted his support to Tinubu before the main election where Amaechi was second behind Tinubu, added that this might be part of El-Rufai’s frustration with Tinubu.

“El-Rufai should be on our side, but somehow, he moved. And I think this is part of things that are annoying or frustrated him,” said Senator.

“He is on our side. Amachi’s side. Before Tinubu was nominated, he decided to support Tinubu, and Tinubu, as he said exactly, said that he could not leave and that he had to go up, join the government.

“So since then, I was not so close to El-Rufai because he left our group. He was on our side but went to support Tinubu fully. You know, he really mobilizes. He did many things. Tinubu asked him to join the government but somehow, until now, I did not understand what happened (Antara) El-Rufai and Tinubu but it was not my business.

“But sometimes, I will say, ‘Okay o, you do that to us, it is a return for yourself’. But, I can’t understand, I am the main whip. El-Rufai comes to the room for the minister’s screening and we almost like to take him to take the bow and go …”
