Governor Cross River Otu was rejected for appointing SSA on Facebook, Instagram, X, Tiktok, Content Making, Others

Governor Bassey Otu from Cross River State received criticism following a new wave of media promises including senior special advisers and special advisors on Facebook, Instagram, X (previously Twitter), Tiktok, content making, advocacy, among others.

He was also slammed for the height and appointment of several media assistants for strategic positions in all digital, electronic and creative communication.

A statement issued on Thursday by the Head Secretary of the Head, Linus Obogo, stated that the new appointment underlined the Governor’s commitment to improve public communication and strengthen the involvement of citizens under the government of the “First People”.

“Among the newly elevated officials are Imani Odey, who switched from the role of senior special assistants in electronic media to special advisors in electronic media. Other appointed people including assistants who include new media, communication, photography, cinematography, and content making,” the statement said.

“Governor of OTU congratulates all the appointed and accused them of approaching their role with fresh energy, innovation, and unwavering dedication to the people at the cross river state. The appointment applies immediately,” Obogo said.

The newly appointed SSA and SAS are SSA New Media, SA New Media, SSA Twitter, Twitter SA, SSA Facebook, SA Facebook, SSA Instagram, SA Instagram, SSA Tiktok, SA Tiktok, SSA Content Making, SA Content, SSA New Media Advocacy, and New Media Advocacy SA.

However, the promise of gathering has caused various comments on social media with many people asking what their functions are like. Some commentators believe that they are being compensated while others see it as a way to provide work for “boys” and governor’s loyalists.
