The recently recruited soldier stabs the police officer in Taraba

A recently recruited soldier named Dauda Dedan who had just passed out from the training of military recruitment at the Nigerian army of Depot would have stabbed a police officer, an Aaron John, attached to the Taraba command to death in Jalingo, the capital of the state.

Confirming the accident to Jalingo journalists on Wednesday, James Lashen, head of the Public Relations of the Police (PPRO) of the Taraba Command said that the accident took place at 21:00 on Monday in Mayo-Goyi, a suburb of the city of Jalingo in the state of Taraba.

Lashen said that the deceased agent was notified by some residents of a misunderstanding in the community and rushed to the area to intervene, but was stabbed to death by the soldier.

Blueprint.ng corresponding has collected that the police officer died on the spot while the soldier would have fled the scene.

The PPRO said that the soldier was free and the Nigerian army started investigations on the matter.

He assured that the police will trace the suspicion and face the full anger of the law.

“We reported the question to the headquarters of the Nigerian army brigade and they gave us full insurance to trace the culprit and promised to make it available to face the full anger of the law,” he said.
