On Wednesday, the government of the State of Ogun rejected as ridiculous and ridiculous statements that the governor Dapo inhabitu is insisting on unusually severe technical standards for the Paddy Arikawe Oye-Igomo Road in Sagamu, an electoral college project proposed by Senator Gbenga Daniel, who represents Ogun East.
In a declaration signed by Hon. Kayode Akinmade, special consultant of the Governor for the media and strategy, the government clarified that the requirements provided to the contractor, Minim and Tonye Nigeria Limited, are the same standards applied to all state road projects and are designed to protect public safety.
He added that any thrust of Senator Daniel’s members to lower these standards is equivalent to a clear attempt to compromise public safety and died on arrival.
The statement is also described as a pile of garbage that amazes, a presumably relationship of Daniel’s media team entitled “Dapo inhabitance faces Tinubu on road standards built in Ogun”, calling him a hasty manufacture guided by despair and further motifs.
The declaration challenged the authors to present evidence of the fact that President Bola Tinubu is carrying out a road project of 260 meters everywhere in the state of Ogun, expressing surprise that Daniel’s team seemed to assume that the Nigerians cannot distinguish between road projects approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and by those started by individual federal legislators.
He added that the government discovered that the design of the drainage and the concrete flooring was unable to meet the standards of the Ministry of Works (FMW) only after the contractor presented the project drawings.
Subsequently, he said, he made his observations known to the contractor through a letter dated 22 September 2025, asking her to make the necessary corrections and to reconstitute for approval accordingly.
The declaration added: “It is pertinent to say that every time the state government of Ogun wants to work on any FG road, it is statutory and mandatory that we must obtain the necessary authorization from the Federal Ministry of Works and this had been the practice since the beginning of the previous administration.

“In line with this, the Federal Government also requires our drawings, specifications and any other document relating to the projects that we have always forced them before they give us approval to start these projects.
“In the same way, every time the federal government wants to work on Ogun’s state projects, they follow the normal procedure by informing the Ministry of Works and the infrastructures of the State of Ogun, attacking the necessary documents relating to these roads. They have not always followed this process to avoid the exception.
“It should be noted that the contractor did not inforce the ministry before starting the work. Its action denies the normal process of the right process that should be followed before starting the work on the road of the state government. Therefore it was informed through the letter ref. No. ad. 1198/48, dated 17 September 2025 to substantially inform the Ministry of the Project worrying and searched for the necessary approval.”
The declaration added that after crossing the documents presented by the Contractor, the government discovered that the contractor intends to build 300 m on the entire section of 3000 m, which represents 10% of the entire road project, but the Ministry of Works of Ogun had previously done a palliative work up to the basic level of stone on some parts of this project, while the design work is already in the final phase of the execution phase.
The declaration added: “The directive of the Ministry of Works of the State of Ogun is not a” interference “in a federal initiative, as a mischievously, but a responsible and necessary step, rooted in its constitutional duty to safeguard the interests of the people of the State of Ogun.
“The Ministry of the State of Ogun of the works and infrastructures has identified clear technical deficiencies in the contractor’s proposal and drag the president of the president in this matter is a useless distraction.
“Pray, what does the presidency have with the inability of a contractor to satisfy acceptable technical standards? This is simply an old -fashioned stratagem from the OGD media team to divert attention from the substance of the issues raised.
“How can someone describe the insistence of the state government of Ogun on higher grade concrete, stronger layers of stone, strengthened traction force and full compliance with the standards of the Federal Ministry of works as a politics if not for claims?
“The state government of Ogun will not compromise on the quality, nor will it allow you to perform poor projects within the state. The people of Ogun deserves roads that support the test of time, not the distractions guided by propaganda.
“The buffonate of the media team will not be successful. The facts remain clear and the administration of the governor Dapo inhabitaun remains engaged in transparency, responsibility and lasting development for everyone.”
