A 20-year-old student of the University of Lagos told the State High Court, Ikeja, on Wednesday that she was allegedly raped by her lecturer, Dr. Samuel Ojogbo.
The student, who was complained to by the State Counselor, Mr Owolabi Azeez, alleged that the lecturer forcibly raped her in his underground office.
The victim stated that on August 21, 2025, he was writing the exam when the defendant asked whether the questions reflected his reading.
“I said yes, I know one part better. He told me not to worry and to see him after the exam,” he said.
The reporter said he visited the lecturer’s office twice but did not meet him.
“The next day, August 22, I checked again. The defendant was watching. After that I looked and he asked me to wait,” he added.

The student said he followed the lecturer to a basement office without windows or a secretary.
“We sat and discussed the exam. Two students came in; he dismissed them and asked me to close the door.
“As I closed it, he stood behind me, pushed me onto the sofa and started touching me.
“He fondled me, forced himself on me and raped me.
“After that, he said he would supervise my final year project and collect my numbers,” he added.
