Osimhen and Lookman are not friends – Super Eagles Ace reveals it

The two most celebrated players in the Nigerian senior team are arguably the duo of Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

They were instrumental in helping the team in the last AFCON, with Osimhen scoring four goals and two assists. Lookman scored four goals and four assists as the team finished third in the tournament in Morocco.

During the course of the tournament, they had a heated argument on the field during the 4-0 victory over Mozambique in the round of 16 of the tournament.

Lookman played down the matter as nothing serious and said it’s just football, but Osimhen has not said anything about the incident in which he was the aggressor and even asked to be substituted after the incident.

“We have to thank the senior players on the team for not making that incident come to light. It was scary for many of us new players, but two senior players spoke to Osimhen and he apologized before our next training session,” revealed a player on the team.

We sought to know if this subsequently affected their relationship and he said they didn’t have one before so it didn’t affect anything. “They are not friends and everyone on the team knows it, but it’s not that they don’t get along with each other. That type of close relationship is what they don’t have, although you can say that Lookman is close to anyone,” he concluded.
