The All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed former Labor Party presidential candidate Peter Obi following his resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accusing him of continuously switching parties in pursuit of political gains.
Reacting to Obi’s exit, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, in a statement posted on X on Sunday, described the former governor of Anambra State as a defector who is unwilling to commit to building any political platform.
“Peter Obi, a mossy political rock… wandering around again in search of a free, uncontested, unchallenged presidential ticket… never willing to stay to build any party,” he wrote.
Morka further alleged that Obi prefers a political path that avoids internal competition, and indicated that he seeks office without competition.
“He fantasizes about becoming president with a ticket given only on a plate of gold… APGA – PDP – LP – ADC to NDC,” added Morka.
The APC spokesperson did not hold back in his criticism, ultimately branding Obi a “political vagabond.”
“Goodbye, inconsolable Nigerian political bum,” he said.

Obi had previously confirmed his departure from ADC, and attributed the decision to the ongoing internal crisis and what he described as a toxic political climate that inhibited meaningful engagement.
In his statement, he explained that the move came after careful reflection and was influenced by persistent divisions and infighting within the party, which he said had diverted focus from solving Nigeria’s pressing challenges.
He also clarified that his decision was not driven by personal disputes with key party figures, including David Mark and Atiku Abubakar, both of whom he said he still respects.
Obi reiterated that his political ambitions are not driven by personal gain, and stated that his primary concern remains the welfare of the Nigerian people and the need to build a more functional and just society.
Despite having left the party, he remained optimistic about the future of his country, and maintained that competent and compassionate leadership was still achievable and that a better Nigeria was still possible.
