Tinubu arrived in Lagos after a France and Kenya trip

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Friday after a three-country visit to France, Kenya and Rwanda.

The visit is part of the current administration’s efforts to attract investment and position Nigeria for economic growth.

The President’s plane landed at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, at 7.12pm on Friday.

Tinubu was received by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy, Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and other government officials.

Also present at the airport were the Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa and other senior government officials.

While in France, Tinubu met with global investors and emphasized transparency, fiscal discipline and the rationale behind the rapid implementation of his government’s bold economic reforms.

The President also participated in the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, co-hosted by President Emmanuel Macron of France and President William Ruto of Kenya.

At the summit, Tinubu called for reforms in the global financial architecture and stronger economic integration that prioritizes Africa’s long-term growth, industrialization and prosperity.

He also highlighted the potential of Nigeria’s blue economy as a cornerstone of Africa’s development and pledged to share Nigeria’s maritime intelligence infrastructure with willing Gulf of Guinea countries.

While in Nairobi, Tinubu held a bilateral meeting with the President of Madagascar, Michael Randrianirina, to discuss regional cooperation and economic partnerships.

In Kigali, Rwanda, the President joined African leaders, investors and chief executives at the Africa CEO Forum focused on accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through regional integration and cross-border investment.

Tinubu also held a bilateral meeting with Rwandan President Paul Kagame, where the two leaders discussed strengthening cooperation and advancing economic integration between the countries.

In Lagos, President Tinubu is expected to participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries starting on Saturday.
