Reign College were crowned champions of the inaugural Sporting Lagos Secondary Schools Cup after a 3-0 win over FTC in the final at the Elegbata Sports Complex, Lagos Island.
The first edition of the tournament, organized by Sporting Lagos and sponsored by Selar and GoodTree Ag, saw eight secondary schools competing over two days.
After a goalless first half, Regin College broke the deadlock with a well-placed shot from outside the box before doubling its lead minutes later. They added a third goal to secure the title.
Earlier, Gracewell Academy secured third place after beating Anwar-ul-Islam 5-3 on penalties following a 2-2 draw. Gracewell took a two-goal lead before Anwar-ul-Islam counterattacked to level the contest and force a penalty shootout.
The final and third place play-off were broadcast live on Sporting Lagos’ YouTube channel, with Regin College becoming the first winner of the competition.
