Stakeholders and youths in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State have declared their full support for the African Democratic Congress governorship candidate, Bilyaminu Yusuf Shinkafi, ahead of the 2027 governorship elections.
The stakeholders, who made the statement on Wednesday at the local government headquarters, said they had chosen Bilyaminu as their preferred candidate to lead the state, citing the need for a new direction in governance.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Abdulaziz Ibrahim said the people of Shinkafi are ready to mobilize their communities and work for the ADC candidate across the state.
“We root for the man who knows the job best,” Ibrahim said.
He called on the people of Zamfara to rally behind Bilyaminu Yusuf Shinkafi, saying the 2027 elections gave voters the opportunity to demand responsible, responsive and development-focused leadership.
Stakeholders accused the All Progressives Congress administration of failing to adequately address the hardships faced by residents despite federal allocations to the state.
Ibrahim said public resources should translate into tangible improvements in citizens’ lives.
“We should eliminate the APC and its governorship candidate,” he said.
According to him, Zamfara requires leadership that prioritizes security of lives and property, while creating conditions for economic growth, investment and job creation.
ADC supporters also urged voters to carefully review the documents, programs and capabilities of all gubernatorial candidates before casting their ballots.
They challenged political parties and candidates to make the 2027 campaign about issues rather than personalities.
Stakeholders called for public debates on insecurity, education, health, agriculture, employment, infrastructure and economic development.
“Zamfara cannot prosper when its people are not safe,” Ibrahim said.
The group pledged to mobilize youth, community leaders and other residents of Shinkafi local government in support of Bilyaminu.
“The campaign would focus on spreading the ADC candidate’s message to the grassroots and presenting his proposed agenda to the voters.”
Stakeholders have urged ADC supporters across Zamfara to intensify grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections.
They argued that elections should provide voters with the opportunity to choose the leadership they believe can address the state’s security and development challenges.
