Tunji-Ojo’s track record offers hope for a bigger Ondo, Fadola says

A leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Prince Emmanuel Aderosoye Fadola, FCPA, has commended the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his reforms at the federal level and what he described as an enduring record of developmental interventions in the 18 local government areas of Ondo State.

Fadola expressed the praise in a statement on Friday by Ilara-Mokin, where he also urged the minister to do more for the state and called on the sons and daughters of Ondo to support him with their support.

According to him, Tunji-Ojo, popularly known as BTO, has brought a new level of efficiency, technology and accountability to the Ministry of Home Affairs, a ministry that oversees immigration, prison services and other sensitive areas of national administration.

“What BTO has done at the Ministry of Home Affairs shows that government can actually work when the person in charge takes the results seriously. It has modernized processes, improved service delivery and restored some public trust in institutions that many Nigerians had given up on,” Fadola said.

The APC boss, however, noted that the impact of the minister was not limited to his national assignment, pointing to a wide range of projects he has implemented in communities across Ondo State.

He listed the donation and installation of transformers to communities left without electricity, distribution of relief materials to vulnerable families, installation of solar-powered street lights, scholarships for indigent students, road rehabilitation, free medical care, as well as youth empowerment and employment programs.

“These are not projects you read about in the newspapers and never see. Communities that have been in darkness for years now have light because BTO has provided them with transformers. Students who would have dropped out of school are now going to school on his scholarships. Our youth have been empowered and many of them are now gainfully employed. This is a man who has not forgotten where he came from,” he said.

Fadola added that the minister’s combined experience in the National Assembly and the executive arm of government gave him a rare understanding of the legislative, political and administrative process.

“BTO has seen governance from both sides. It understands how laws are made and how policies are implemented. This kind of exposure, coupled with the relationships it has built at the national level, is an asset Ondo State cannot afford to waste,” he said.

While praising the minister, Fadola encouraged him not to give in, saying the state’s needs remain enormous.

“We thank him for all he has done, but we also want him to do more. Ondo State is endowed with human and natural resources, but our development has not lived up to our potential. We need leaders who can turn that potential into real progress, and BTO has proven that it is capable of doing so,” he said.

He also appealed to Ondo indigenes at home and in the diaspora to rally behind the minister and support his efforts for the state.

“I urge all sons and daughters of Ondo State to stand with BTO. No leader can succeed alone. If we give him our support, our cooperation and our prayers, there is no limit to what he can achieve for our people. This is the time to put the interest of our State above all other considerations,” Fadola said.

He further noted that the progress recorded by younger states, including Ekiti, should serve to remind the people of Ondo that rapid development is possible when leadership combines vision with planning and discipline.

“History will judge all of us by results, not slogans. What BTO has done so far gives us hope that Ondo State can do the right thing,” he added.
