‘A fabricated story’ – Governor Mutfwang dismisses rumours of planned switch to APC

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has dismissed rumors about his planned transition to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A flexible banner with the governor’s image suggesting his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC has surfaced on social media.

One of the banners was also installed at a strategic location in Benin City, Edo State.

However, in a statement issued on Friday in Jos by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr. Gyang Bere, the governor said the action was the work of his political detractors and troublemakers bent on fomenting enmity between him and the PDP leadership.

He said: “Although these baseless rumors do not require an official response, it is necessary to dispel misunderstandings that could mislead the public and tarnish my integrity.

“I remain a committed member of the PDP and uphold the party values and the trust placed in me by the people of Plateau.

“The news that I am considering leaving the PDP and moving to the APC is completely false.

“This fabricated story is the work of people who do not wish the Plateau any good.

“I would like to appeal to the public to dismiss rumors and refrain from spreading false information.”
