A spokesman for Iran’s Revolutionary Guard was killed in the attack

The spokesman for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Ali Mohammad Naini, was killed in a suspected attack by Israel and the United States.

Tasnim news agency described Naini as a veteran commander who had served the Islamic Republic for more than four decades.

Several top Iranian officials, including security chief Ali Larijani and intelligence minister Esmaeil Khatib have been killed in airstrikes in recent days.

Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the opening hours of the joint military campaign.

He has since been succeeded by his son, Mojtaba Khamenei.
