Abdulrahaman Mohammed on Sunday emerged as National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mohammed and other new members of the National Working Committee (NWC) were selected through consensus voting to lead the party for the next four years at the party’s national convention held at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
The convention was organized by a party faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
New NWC members, as announced by the Chair of the Convention Election Committee, Prof. Sandy Onor, are: Aaron Chukwuemeka, Deputy National Chair (South) and Yusufu Akirikwen (SAN), Deputy National Chair (North).
Samuel Anyanwu also appears as National Secretary, Kolawole Olabisi, Deputy National Secretary; Diran Odeyemi, State Treasurer and Lado Mark, Deputy State Treasurer.
In addition, Eyim Henry now serves as National Financial Secretary, Dr. Grema Kyari, Deputy National Financial Secretary; Umar Bature, National Executive Secretary and Efere Augustine, Deputy National Executive Secretary.

Other new NWC members are: Junudo Mohammed, National Publicity Secretary; Egwu Chidiebere, Deputy National Publicity Secretary; Kamaldeen Ajibade, National Legal Advisor and Aloysius Uba, Deputy National Legal Advisor.
While Osuoha Donatus was elected as National Auditor, Dr. Adaba Yatu appears as Deputy National Auditor, Prof. Ogunshe Adedayo as National Women Leader and Hauwa Shinge as Deputy National Women Leader.
Additionally, Ibrahim Aboki also emerged as a National Youth Leader, with Momoh Bashir serving as Deputy National Youth Leader.
New NWC members will soon be appointed.
In his acceptance speech, the new national chairman promised not to let his party down.
He also promised that the new NWC would work with the party leadership to promote unity and reposition the PDP for victory in the 2027 elections.
