Abiodun Ayoyinka dropped his ‘Papa Ajasco’ identity after falling out with Wale Adenuga

Veteran Nollywood actor, Abiodun Ayoyinka, who is famous for his role as Papa Ajasco, has officially changed his name to use the stage name Bondu Alaska.

The announcement follows a dispute with Wale Adenuga Productions over the rights and use of the Papa Ajasco brand.

In an Instagram video shared on Sunday, Ayoyinka thanked Nigerians for their support following his recent interview and vowed to make a fresh start with his new identity.

“Ladies and gentlemen, good morning, Nigerians. My name is Bondu Alaska. The only Bondu Alaska. I want to use this medium to thank the people of Nigeria because they have done a lot for me in my life. I am a new person now, and I promise I will not let you down,” he said.

The actor has updated his Instagram account to @bondualaska_ and encouraged fans and brands to interact with him under this new persona.

This move appears to be a strategic response to the legal limitations surrounding the Papa Ajasco brand.

Wale Adenuga, however, dismissed Ayoyinka’s claims of financial difficulties as “misleading.”

He cited amenities such as multiple vehicles as benefits of the relationship.

He stressed that while actors are free to do outside work, the integrity of the Papa Ajasco brand must be protected.
