Adams on target, Lookman substituted as Sevilla take advantage

Super Eagles striker Akor Adams scored as Sevilla beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 in Saturday’s La Liga match.

The Nigerian international, who was playing his 25th game, has scored seven goals and provided three assists for Sevilla this season.

Adams opened the scoring for the hosts in the 10th minute with a penalty, much to the delight of the home fans. He was replaced in the 90th minute by Batista Mendy.

However, Bonar equalized the visitors’ score in the 38th minute with a low shot.

On the other hand, Ademola Lookman replaced Rayane Belaid in the second half and had a positive impact on the match for Atlético de Madrid.

It was Lookman’s seventh appearance for Atlético Madrid and he has scored two goals this season.

The hosts regained their 2-1 lead in first-half stoppage time thanks to Gudelj.

All of Atlético Madrid’s efforts to equalize in the second half proved fruitless, as Sevilla secured the maximum three points.
