ADC suspends congress in Anambra

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Anambra State has suspended all congresses in the state until further notice.

The Chairman and Secretary of the ADC in the state, Mr Patrick Obianyo and Mr Lawrence Okeke, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Awka.

The duo said the decision underscores the party’s commitment to the rule of law, due process and respect for judicial authority.

They directed all members and stakeholders to “remain calm, law-abiding and peaceful during this period.”

” New dates for the congress and convention will be communicated at the end of the ongoing national consultations and meetings.

“We urge all ADC members and supporters to continue to uphold peace, unity and discipline in navigating this period,” the statement read.
