The African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Sunday urged Ball President Ahmed Tinubu to declare an emergency in the state of Katsina and Zamfara after a series of mass murder that killed more than 150 people in the last two months.
ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi Mallam, who made a call in a statement, said this new massacre in the Malumfashi Regional Government in Katsina where armed people killed 30 worshipers in a mosque and burned 20 villagers who lived were proof of the collapse of the country’s security architecture.
ADC said the massacre of innocent people in their place of worship was an evil act that symbolizes the horror forced by the Nigerians to survive under the current government.
“The murder of innocent people while worship is a burdensome evidence of the collapse of our total national security architecture who have encouraged even the Chief of Staff of the State Defense (CD) to ask citizens to learn how to defend themselves,” the statement said.
The party accused the President to release his duties in protecting Nigerians from throwing away all over the world.

“Instead of facing this urgent national tragedy with the seriousness they demanded, Ball President Ahmed Tinubu continued to jet-set around the world, pursuing photographs, while the people were dying in dozens at home,” he said.
The party also expressed disappointment that the President did not personally speak to the nation or reach the families of the victims.
“The same is the same to note that President Tinubu has not made a condolence statement directly to the families of victims or provide guarantees of safety to those who are still alive. This negligence is unthinkable in the countries that the president wants to visit.
“Therefore, we called for a direct declaration of emergencies in the state of Katsina and Zamfara until the government could stem the waves of bloodshed in those places and restore some order,” he concluded.
