Adeboye’s wife: I threw my gold jewelery into the lagoon after…

Foluke Adeboye, wife of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed that she threw her gold jewelery into the lagoon as a personal expression of her commitment to Christianity.

Speaking in a resurfaced interview airing on Gold Maker TV, Adeboye described how her lifestyle underwent a significant transformation after being born again during the early years of the RCCG.

The cleric’s wife said she had a strong passion for fashion as a young girl, noting that she once bought gold and other jewelery even for her newborn son.

However, she said her priorities changed completely after embracing her faith, adding that wearing earrings and gold was considered unacceptable at the time.

“Once reborn in the RCCG, it was forbidden to wear earrings. So I threw everything into the lagoon,” he said.

Adeboye recalled that her action surprised some people, including a friend of her mother who asked her why she didn’t give away the jewelery instead of discarding it.

In response, Adeboye said: “If it’s not good for me, it’s not good for my mother.”

Reflecting on his decision, he added that he has no regrets about letting the items go.
