AFCPHR cries the judge Kanyeihamba, forms the staff on the label in the workplace

The African court on human rights and people (AFCPHR) has recently conducted training dedicated to staff on professional ethics and on the label in the workplace.

The training was part of the Court in progress commitment to promote a professional institutional culture, respectful and inclusive.

The training, which was facilitated by the Hon. Lady Justice Tujilane Rose Chizumila, judge of the court, has brought together staff, companions and interns of various departments, who have engaged in a dynamic and interactive session aimed at strengthening a favorable work environment.

Among other issues, the session has addressed a series of key topics, including the importance of ethical behavior in the workplace, the respectful language and the communication between cultures and languages, label and professional label and role of courtesy in teamwork and collaboration.

Speaking of the reason, Hon. The judge Chizumila underlined the relevance of the training, noting that daily interactions within a multicultural, multicultural and multi -zone work environment, which characterizes the court, are crucial for its overall effectiveness.

“We come from many cultures, but it is professionalism, through respectful language, conscious behaviors and ethical choices that allow us to work like a court. In such a diversified institution, the daily courtesies are not small things. They are the foundations of our shared success,” he said.

Even giving a vision, the chancellor of the court, Dr. Robert Eno, underlined the importance of training, stating that “supporting the highest standards of ethics and label is not optional, rather it is essential for the way we serve, interact and represent the Court both internally and externally”.

“Training aligns with the strategic objective of the Court to promote institutional excellence through the development of strengthened capacity,” said Eno.

In a related development, the Court also cried the disappearance of the former judge, the honorable judge George W. Kanyeihamba.

In a declaration made available for the project in Abuja on Monday, the Court said he received with profound sadness, news about the death of the honorable judge George W. Kanyeihamba, former judge of the court, who passed away on 14 July 2025.

The honorable judge Kanyeihamba, an Ugandan citizen, was appointed judge of the African court by the Assembly of Heads of State and the Government of the African Union in June 2006 for a two -year term

In addition to his service in court, judge Kanyeihamba had a long and illustrious career as judge, author and academic. He worked as a judge of the Uganda Supreme Court from 1997 to 2009, held ministerial and parliamentary positions in the Ugandan government and was a chancellor of Kampala International University

The constant dedication of judge Kanyeihamba to the progress of justice and its lasting commitment for the protection of human rights and populations in Africa has been applauded by the Court.

In his message of condolences to the family in mourning, to the government and the people of Uganda, president of the Court, Hon. Dr. Justice Modibo Sacko indicated that the death of judge Kanyeihambba was a great loss for the African human rights family and would have been very lost.
