Afrobeats Asake Stars say the ego is the key to surviving in Nigerian music

Afrobeats Asake stars have taken into their social media accounts to share their honest thoughts about the role of the ego and humility in the Nigerian music industry, emphasizing that being too humble often causes underestimated or not appreciated.

In a post that was distributed on Wednesday night on page X official (previously Twitter), the singer ‘Terminator’ explains that while humility is a good personal nature to have, the entertainment business sometimes demands a belief performance – or even ego – to get respect.

He showed that when showing self -confidence or ego can make an artist more attractive to the audience and admirers, humility is often misinterpreted as a sign of weakness.

Asake underlines that people are more interested in the results than the reason they are obtained. More productive to let the results talk alone, he continued, because it shows that every step of your work is often ignored.

“As an artist, if you are humble, they just accept it. But if you have an ego, they feel inaccessible then they prefer you. People prefer to see what you do rather than showing them. They don’t really appreciate them. Do what you need to do and leave.” He wrote on X.
