Agbakoba asked Natasha to withdraw the accusation of sexual harassment against Akpabio

A former President of the Nigerian Lawyer Association (NBA), Olisa Agbakoba, has asked the Senator representing Kogi Central in the National Assembly, Natasha Akpoti-Uuduaghan, to withdraw accusations of sexual harassment against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

Agbakoba called in a letter dated April 14.

The letter, the second written by Nigerian senior advocate to Akpoti-Uuduaghan, since the crisis began, was seen by journalists on Tuesday.

The Senate on March 6 suspected Akpoti-Uduaghan for violating the rules.

In the letter, Agbakoba asked members of parliament to provide evidence that supported his claim that Akpabio harass him sexually on December 8, 2023.

The former NBA president said the latest letter was a response to the failure of Akpoti-Uuduaghan to respond to the concerns submitted in his first letter.

He also condemned the delay in making the accusations public.

Agbakona wrote: “Remember that in our first letter to you, we ask for clarification of contradictions in your accusations against our clients, Akpabio.

“What needs to be considered is a contradiction about schedule and date. You have failed to clarify your sexual harassment accusations on December 8, 2023, and your AKPABIO gathering on your social media account (Instagram and X/Twitter) on December 9, 2023 – the day after you sexually accuse you of a sexually harassed you.

“Instead of clarifying this contradiction, you delete social media posts, which for us are very alarming.

“You claim that sexual harassment occurred on December 8, 2023, but your accusation was not carried out until February 28, 2025. One year and two months later.

“In fact, you take some selfies and photo groups with him during this event.

“All of these events are posted in a warm tone by you on your social media platform. Please see a copy of screenshots from your Facebook post and other photos that you take with Akpabio. We find this contradictory and hard to believe.

“Considering this and also failed to clarify the inconsistency shown in our first letter to you, we demanded you to withdraw accusations of sexual harassment against our clients because they were wrong and unfounded.”
