Ahmed Musa Admits Pressure on Super Eagles

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa has indicated that the team is under pressure to perform and get a good result when they face Cote d’Ivoire in their second Group A match of the Africa Cup of Nations, on Thursday.

The Super Eagles got off their AFCON to a not so palatable start following a 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea, a game many expected them to win.

However, hard luck in front of goal put all of their labour for three points into waste despite dominating the game from the blast of the whistle to the final minute.

In a chat with Brila Media Musa, who was part of the team to win the last AFCON in 2013, opined rather superciliously that it could be possible that fate is about to repeat itself.

“Maybe that is what God wants to show us, so at the end of the day, we don’t have what to say. We just have to wait and see what is going to happen.

“That is what happened at the beginning of the AFCON. We played 1-1 against Burkina Faso then Zambia, and then we won against Ethiopia. But this time a lot of things have to change.”

“The first game was not what we expected, but in the second game we know that there is a lot of pressure for us and then for them too. For the fans they have to keep the support, and for us we have to win to qualify. So we’ll do our best to make that happen,” he told BRL.
