A’ibom APC slammed Atiku because of an attack on Akpabio

The Akwa Ibom State Chapter from the All Progressives Congress (APC), has condemned former vice president and presidential candidate from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, for his remarks to the sexually president of the senate.

While speaking in an interview with journalist Adewa Giwa-Osagie about countless stories on Tuesday, Atiku accused that the reason for the National Assembly in a hurry to approve of the emergency rules imposed on the state of Rivers by the President of the Tinubu Bola was because his leadership was corrupt.

“I was not surprised because I knew that leadership was corrupt, and I didn’t apologize for that. They could do anything,” he said.

When making specific references to Akpabio, former VP said:

“The president of the senate is actually known for having such a character, even when he is a governor. He is corrupt. Not only he is corrupt, but he is also a habit of harassing women.”

But in a statement on Wednesday, Akwa Ibom APC hit Atiku over the statement, calling them careless and inappropriate, originating from the political figure of his stature.

When defending the Senate President in a statement issued in Uyo, the Capital of the State, Director General of the APC Media Network, InioBong John, said Atiku’s comments were careless and inappropriate for his caliber public figure.

“We feel the need to respond to this new statement made by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who not only accused Senator Godswill Akpabio, President of the Senate, corruption but also accused that he had a tendency for women.

“Historically, Atiku Abubakar was recognized as the most corrupt politician in Nigeria. During his term of office as vice president, he harassed his office to cheat many national assets.

“In his autobiography, my watch, former Olusegun Obasanjo president dedicated several chapters to specify how Atikar Abubakar misused his position to illegally obtain national assets. This illustrates not only the history of corruption but also the lack of fundamental characters.

“This accusation has been confirmed by his former school principal, former President Olugun Obasanjo, who has firmly stated that Atiku is too corrupt to be entrusted with public offices in our country.

“It is clear that someone with a tarnished reputation does not have a moral position to accuse others of corruption. The careless statement of Atikakar about Senator Godswill Akpabio reflects the level of damage, malice, and political opportunism taken too far”.

John also rejected the accusation made by the deferred Kogi MP, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uuduaghan against Akpabio, called them “really discredited” because of what he called the lack of clear political evidence and motivation.

“It is very surprising that despite his reputation as the creator of the serial content and extortion, Atiku Abubakar will still choose to strengthen his unfounded claim,” John said.
