Aina blames the new rule offside for Awoniyi’s injury

Ola Aina has blamed the new rule out of play for the injury suffered by her compatriot Taiwo Awoniyi in the pride of the Premier League last Sunday with Leicester City relegated.

Awoniyi left an induced coma on Wednesday night and was recovering long after another surgery round to repair a broken intestine, suffered in the final stages of Forest 2-2 draw with Leicester.

Nigeria’s international was treated by Forest’s medical staff after colliding with a position and clear to return to the field, before realizing that he could not continue.

The 27 -year -old got sick after the game and hastened to the hospital.

The really disturbing for everyone in Nottingham Forest is that, as Awoniyi is affected in the hospital, they know that none of this should have happened at all.

If an assistant referee, Sian Massey-Cellis, would have put his flag as a clearly out of play, Anthony Elanga ran to a ball through the 2-2 draw of the forest against Leicester on Sunday, he would not have crossed the distant position.

There would have been no collision between Awoniyi and the framework of the goal.

It is a relatively new rule, which tells the attendees to wait until the passage of the game ends before pointing, but it has long felt like an accident waiting for it to happen. And now the accident is here and Awoniyi is the victim.

“Anthony was offside miles,” Aina told Mail Sport.

β€œThe whole world could see and I could also where it was.

“You think ‘out of play’ immediately. Could surely lift the flag?

β€œI personally liked how I was in the past when they simply placed it immediately.

β€œA simple decision and continue with the game.

“Have to do it and then see that this happens … well, none of this would have happened with ‘T’ if the flag had climbed, right?”

Aina also added that he and his teammates have sent a message to Awoniyi.

“T is a very cold guy,” says Aina in a low voice.

“He doesn’t like to get on the way. He does his own business, but he can also have fun.

“He has been in a couple of my videos, but I know he doesn’t like cameras too much, so I try not to put them on his face. I respect that for him.

β€œI sent him a message, of course. The whole team does.

β€œI have heard that he is recovering well, so I hope we soon listen to him.

“I knew I had hurt at that time, but I just didn’t realize that it was in that sense. I just heard when everyone sent messages in the group chat of our players.”

Aina also spoek about what he and Awoniyi share in common.

β€œWe have many things in common, me and Taiwo. Like our faith.

β€œBut this is our teammate and brother and someone with whom we spend most of the year with the day in the day.

“It affects everyone in a way. All we can do is show our support and, hopefully, everything is going well for him now.”
