Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina is a doubt for Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Cheetahs and Rwanda’s Amavubi.
Aina suffered a calf injury in Nottingham Forest’s 1-1 home draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.
The 27-year-old was replaced by Harry Toffolo in the 54th minute of the match.
The versatile defender is now expected to spend time on the sidelines.
It would be recalled that Aina also missed Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic in June.
The Super Eagles will host neighbours Benin at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday, September 7.
The West Africans will face Rwanda three days later at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
