Akpabio to the Governor: Don’t Choose ‘Sale Knowing’ as the successor

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Saturday advised the governor who came out about their successor choices in 2027.

Akpabio, who made a call at the first 30 kilometer commissioning of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway in the Negara Lekki area, warned the governors not to choose their knees in front of them as successors.

He noted that the governor who was satisfied with the successor only because they kneel before them had to strengthen themselves for betrayal when they finally left the office.

He urged the governors to prioritize visionary leadership rather than loyalty. When choosing a successor.

The event was attended by the President of Bola Tinubu, Nobel Winner Prof. Wole Soyinka, Minister of Finance, Wale Edun and his work colleagues, Dave Umahi.

Also in the forum is the Governor of Hope Uzodimma (IMO), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos).

Akpabio said: “We have a president who has vision and vision. And this is for me that I must suggest our governor, especially those who are in their second term. Don’t give strength to anyone who does not seek power.

“Don’t give strength to anyone who is not ready. Don’t hide in your heart that this boy is very submitting; he always kneels when he talks to me, his wife always rolls on the floor, I think I have to make this one as a governor.

“If you do that, you give strength to someone who is not ready for governance and they will disappoint you. This is where betrayal usually starts. I just try to give advice.”
