The Nigerian Stand-up comedian Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, who is professionally known as Ali Baba, has considered corruption that is rooted in the political landscape of Nigeria.
Humor traders who are open in this new appearance in the podcast outside the box highlights how deep corruption is rooted, describing it as a systemic disability that damages every aspect of national development.
According to him, running for governor in several states may be valuable anywhere from β¦ 20 to β¦ 25 billion, while running for senate seats can cost up to β¦ 1.2 billion.

“To win the current senator seat between N1.2 billion. You need N1 or 2 billion to win the Senate seat. To win the House of Rep, you need 1 billion more.
“Your State House of Assembly needs N500 million. The governor depends on the country. For the state of Delta, you need around the N20BN, for the river you need 25 billion. For some states in the north may be 4 or 5 or 6 billion naira.
“So this is an intensive project of capital, that is what drives corruption in our country today. So whenever someone is in the office, that person does not think about education, unless whatever he wants to do in education will give a sum of money they can use when the time for elections comes”, he revealed.
