Aliko Dangote Foundation distributes 40,000 pacchi of pear rice …

The Aliko Dangote Foundation has started the distribution of 40,000 bags of rice in all 20 areas of the local government of the state government of Ogun, with priority to people who live with disabilities and other vulnerables in the state

Speaking during the flag of the distribution of 10 kg rice bags to the people of the State of Abokuta, the governor Dapo Inhabitun praised the Foundation by saying that the donation of the gift objects to the state indigenous people was in tandem with the efforts of his government aimed at providing help to people during this trial period.

The Governor, represented by the Secretary of the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, at the flag ceremony held in the OBA complex, Oke-Mosan, Abokuta, expressed satisfaction that the Foundation has collaborated with the state in various sectors, including health, empowerment and security.

Governor inhaboun recalled the crucial roles carried out by the ADF during the Covid-19 pandemic to reduce the effect of the disease by providing critical infrastructures. He added that the Foundation was also of enormous support for Ogun’s state security architecture with patrol vans, among other contributions.

“When corporate organizations are committed to initiatives like this, we should highlight them so that others can learn from it. Not everything is to come, make money and start. This is a gesture that should be replicated by any corporate entity because you have to enter into empathy with people and I think what the Dangotte Foundation has done is to give priority constantly to people,” he said.

Governor inhaboun has warned against the sale of food products, stating that anyone captured by selling them would have faced them and that state will monitor the distribution to be sure that those who actually get them get them.

“For our market women, don’t say that someone has brought it to you and now you are selling it. The rice is designed to be given to people for free; it is for empowerment”, he warned

Previously in his welcome speech, commissioner for special duties and intergovernmental affairs, Mrs. Funmi Efuape recognized the support that the Dargote Foundation gave to the state government and to the various social responsibility initiatives of the companies that has undertaken for its host communities.

The head of the operations, Aliko Dangote Foundation, Victor Edero, in his message of goodwill, said that the Foundation has started the food intervention program to contribute to contributing to the efforts of the Federal Government for Food Safety so that the Nigerians in particular vulnerable have access to the most fundamental food, rice in this period of global economic recession.

He explained that the ADF focuses on three main areas: Health, Empowerment and Nutrition and has collaborated on governments at all levels to provide a passage in all sectors

The national food intervention initiative, according to him, was born from the current economic situation in which people have difficulty citing for the purposes, adding that the Foundation is collaborating with the state government to bring rescue to the least privileged in society, asking for an equitable distribution to all beneficiaries.

General Iyaloja of the State of Ogun, Mrs. Yemisi Abbas, appreciated the Dongote group for having always identified with the people, while appealing to the Foundation to start a loan system as a form of empowerment to eradicate poverty in the state.

The representatives of people who live with disabilities, commercial advice and advice of young people, one after the other, thanked Alhaji Aliko Dangote for his magnanimity and also praised the government of the state for always looking for ways to mitigate the suffering of people, stating that collaboration with Dangote is an indication that the government and the private sector can work together for the good of the people.

On the occasion, the representatives of people who live with disabilities, widows, commercial council, youth advice, market women, craftsmen and other groups of women, have received bags of rice for distribution following their members.
