Allegations of criminals on Sunday killed a Nigerian Navy officer, Lieutenant-CDR. M. Buba, in the State of Kaduna.
Spokesman for the State Police Command, Mansir Hassan, confirmed the incident to journalists on Monday at Kaduna.
Hassan said the criminals attacked the Navy officer with a knife and robbed his cellphone near the Kawo overpass around 5:00 in the morning on Sunday.
He added that one of the suspects tried to escape but was controlled by an angry gang and beaten to death.

The spokesman said: “Navy officers suffered stab wounds and were rushed to the Hospital of Manaal, where he was declared dead by a medical doctor.
“A Mr. Suleiman Dahiru, who tried to help the late Navy officer, was also stabbed in the hands, and he was also treated at the hospital.
“The body of the late Buba has been stored in 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Mortuary.
“The deceased was in his black Toyota vehicle with the App-745HT registration number when the incident occurred.”
