Judge Ahmed Isa from the Adamawa High Court, Yola, on Tuesday gave a guarantee to Umar Jada, a loyal supporter of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in his case because of alleged defamation.
He was given a guarantee in the amount of N1 million.
The judge also ordered Jada to produce a guarantor, who had to live in Yola, after the exparte motion submitted by his advisor, Desmond Adebole, for a review.
The defendant was previously returned to prison by the Judge II Court, Yola, following his inability to meet the guarantee requirements in the lawsuit.
The lawsuit was filed by Alhaji Sadiq Wali, the traditional holder of the Walin Ganye, and his son, Adamu.
The court provides a guarantee of Jada in the amount of N5 million.
He was also ordered to produce a traditional first -class rulers as a guarantor.
The verdict on the exparte motion on Tuesday, Jesus argued that the process in the judge’s court was damaged by irregularities.
He quoted an inappropriate call and warrant service, as well as a failure to provide sufficient time for the defendant to prepare for his defense.
The judge directs that the process in the court of the judge is still waiting for the determination of substantive motions in the High Court.
