Allegations of worshipers kill 4 mourners in the funeral of Anambra

The alleged cult on Thursday killed four people during the attack on the mourning at the burial ceremony in Ezi Village, Ogidi, the area of ​​the North Idemili Regional Government in the State of Anambra.

At least 15 others were injured in the attack.

Spokesman for the State Police Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday at Awka.

He said: “The police received a troubled call at the end of September 11, that the armed people suspected of worshiping the funeral ceremony and fired at the mourners.

“This resulted in the death of four people while 15 others suffered a serious shot injury.

“The police operating from the Ogidi Division, led by the Division Police Officer (DPO), were quickly mobilized to the scene, restoring normal conditions, and immediately evacuated the victims to the hospital for medical treatment.

“In the course of the operation, 16 cartridges issued were found as exhibitions.”

Ikenga revealed that the order had launched a wise investigation to identify, track, and arrest the perpetrators.
