Altopian attacks: Mutfwang announces new directives

The governor of the state of the plateau, Caleb Mutfwang, has announced new directives to reduce incessant attacks in the state.

Although he promised that the killers and their sponsors are responsible for attacks in the lows and other parts of the state brought to the book.

Blueprint recalls that at least 51 people, including women, children and the elderly, were killed in the latest attacks on the Kwall district in the area of ​​the Lower Government.

In the meantime, in a state broadcast on Wednesday morning, Mutfwang said that the troops and safety personnel had been lined up and strengthened in vulnerable communities.

The governor has announced a restriction on the night grazing and a ban on cattle transport per vehicle in the state after 19:00, in force on Wednesday.

He also announced the restriction on the use of motorcycles from 19:00 to 6:00 throughout the state to further notice

The Governor said: “With this announcement the following measures, Wednesday 16 April: the nightlife of cattle is strictly prohibited; the transport of cattle per vehicle is prohibited after 19:00; the use of motorcycles is limited from 19:00 to 6:00 in the morning to a state up to further notice.

He added: “We are also activating response systems based on the community. I urge traditional leaders and youth associations to reactivate the groups of local vigilants and organize night patrols in coordination with safety agencies. We must protect our communities while supporting the rule of law.

“In addition, I have in charge of the interreligious council recently inaugurated to start the immediate commitment with all the interested parties to deal with the deepest issues that surround these attacks. Furthermore, I will appoint a special peace correspondent to guide basic consultations and coordination of intelligence.

“A research committee of facts will be established which includes independent voices respected to investigate the main cause of this rebirth in violence and offer impossible recommendations.

“Let it be known: the spirit of the plateau is resilient. We are a people of peace, renowned for our hospitality and unity through religious and ethnic lines. Those who try to pieces must not be successful.

“For the killers and their sponsors, they know it: your evil will not be unpunished. You can run, but you will not hide. The plateau will increase. The plateau will prevail.”

The Governor said he ordered hospitals to provide free medical treatment to the victims and rescue materials, food supplies, adding that temporary shelters are provided to the displaced people.

He revealed that he received the guarantee of full support from President Bola Tinubu.

Mutfwang urged the residents to remain calm and vigilant, collaborating with security agents and sharing credible information.

He underlined the importance of adhering to the rule of law and avoid taking the law in his own hands and invited the leaders of the community, the traditional sovereigns and young people to gather against crime and expose sponsors.

“But let me reassure: my government is alive for its constitutional responsibility to protect lives and properties, and we are reaching the most determined occasion than ever,” added the governor.
