The 2025 Showtime flag soccer season reached a spectacular conclusion on Sunday with the highly anticipated Showtime Bowl at the Buzzing Showtime Arena in Lekki.

Following the Electric Bowl in Lagos, which marked the end of the season, Azeez Amida, president of Showtime Flag Football, reflected on the trip of the League and announced ambitious plans for expansion nationwide.

“We have been in this for eight years. Every time we organize the bowl, it feels completely new,” said Amida. “Seeing fans everywhere, even someone who looks from Brazil on our YouTube channel, only shows how far we have come.”

Amida praised his team’s tireless work for delivering another memorable event.

“Honestly, I am impressed. I am very impressed with what we have built. Huge congratulations to the whole team, I am happy to be the guy in front of the camera that represents all hard work.”

Looking to the future, Amida announced plans to expand the league to six states at the end of 2026, indicating a new era for flag football in Nigeria.

“We are expanding. At the end of next year, our goal is to be in at least six states. The goal is to spread the football of the showtime flag in Nigeria and introduce more communities in this incredible sport.”

This expansion notes not only to grow the game but also deepen its roots in local communities, offering more young athletes the opportunity to participate in a structured and high -energy competition.

Beyond the geographical expansion, Amida shared her long -term vision: to create a viable professional route for candidates for flag soccer players within Nigeria.

“We want our players to dream big, to the point that they can say: ‘I want to be a professional flag player’. We are building something that can become part of the Nigerian dream, here at home.

He stressed that the 2025 bowl is only the beginning of a broader movement.

“We have done a lot, but we are only starting. When you experience what we have created here, you understand that it is special. Now, we want to take that feeling everywhere.”
