Amusan is ready for the Olympics after being cleared by CAS

Amusan ready for Olympics after receiving CAS nod – Latest Nigerian sports news

The CAS ruling dismissed appeals by World Athletics and the World Anti-Doping Agency, which had previously led to Amusan’s provisional suspension by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) in July 2023 for “whereabouts failures.”

Amusan was initially suspended for an infraction, but was acquitted after an appeal. However, the AIU challenged the appeal verdict and referred the matter to the CAS.

In a press release on Friday, the CAS announced that its panel had unanimously found Amusan guilty of two submission failures, but did not confirm a failed test that would have constituted his third “whereabouts failure.”

Reacting to the CAS verdict, Amusan shared her joy on Instagram, posting: “ALL IS GOD” alongside the court’s announcement.

With the matter settled, the 27-year-old is now focused on the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, aiming to win medals in the women’s 100-meter hurdles.
