The Democratic People’s Party (PDP) in the State of Anambra has formed a committee to coordinate its preparations for the November 8 Governor Election in the state.
Secretary of PDP Publicity in the State, Dr. Obumneme Nnoli, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday at AWKA.
He said the decision to regulate the committee had been achieved at the party “Elder Committee” meeting held on Sunday.
The Committee was led by Nigerian senior advocate, Head of Clems Ezika.
Another committee member is Mrs. Chinwe Onuora, β chief Ebere Onunkwo, Head of Francis Udeoba, daughter of Ebere Nwankwo with Sir Chigozie Igwe as Secretary.
The statement reads: “The Chairperson of the State, Chidi Chidebe, on behalf of the Democratic State Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party, the Anambra State Chapter, has approved a high -level joint committee constitution consisting of members of the State Elder Committee and the State Executive Committee.
“This strategic step is part of the party’s proactive preparation for the 2025 Governor Election in the State of Anambra.
“The resolution to form a committee was achieved at a meeting of the Elder Committee held on Sunday, April 27, 2025. This reflects the party’s commitment to deepen the involvement of stakeholders, increase the mobilization of grassroots, and ensure well coordinated consultations ahead of the campaign season.
“The committee is charged with the responsibility of designing a direct framework and can be followed up on consultation and involvement of party members, all directed to provide a strong and inclusive governor campaign.
“Reference provisions are identifying direct programs that focus on grassroots and involvement activities; to develop a detailed budget and can be implemented for the proposed program; to recommend the right date and schedule for implementation.
“The committee is expected to submit its comprehensive report on or before May 14, 2025.”
