Another Nigerian army has been brought to social media to pour out his frustration for what he described as continuous neglect of military personnel, especially in contrast to the luxurious treatment given to the Nigerian women’s soccer team, Super Falcons.
In a viral video that was distributed on Thursday, a depressed soldier compared the sacrifice of the army on the battlefield with recent cash prizes and the prizes announced for the Super Falcons, each of which was given a flat N160 million and three bedrooms after their Wafcon victory.
In the video recording, the soldier showed a sad residence where the army on the mission of maintaining peace remained while protecting Nigerians and fighting terrorists.
He compared a little salary received by the army and questioned the system justice, noting that even after 35 years of service, a soldier might not accept anything close to what the players gained after only one tournament.
He continued by describing the bad conditions of life in the military barracks.
“House Wey Soldier Dey Sleep for Barrack, even the Dog Senator is not suitable to enter the room,” he said, highlighting a dilapidated military accommodation state.
