APC accused PDP, others plan to incite the crisis in Edo

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state of Edo on Tuesday accused that the Democratic Party (PDP) of the people and other major opposition political parties planned to trigger the crisis in the state.

APC Chair in the state, Mr. Jarret Tenebe, stated this at a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja.

He said: “It has become our concern that the leadership of several main opposition parties in our state, along with two other people, has drawn a careless and dangerous plan to incite the crisis and make Edo unregulated.”

Tenebe accused that the purpose of the people behind the plot was to force the President of the Tinubu Bola to declare an emergency in the state.

“Their creepy goal is clear: they want to force the President of the Tinubu Soccer to declare an emergency in Edo, because they are not confident in securing victory in the Edo Election Petition Court,” added the APC Chair.

The Edo State Governor Election Court on Wednesday will give an assessment in the petition proposed by the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo, against the results of the September 21 Governor Election in the state.

The Chairperson of the APC accused that opposition, in their despair, had used acts of sabotage to manipulate public perceptions and judicial sentiments that benefited them.

“As part of their plans, they have asked several members of the state security network that are dissolved to regulate violence, as seen in Uromi, Esan North-East Government Area.

“They aim to mistakenly involve the state government in this disturbance, creating narratives that foster chaos and sympathy for their failed purposes,” he said.

Tenebe called for the arrest of several opposition party leaders in the state of the new murder of the new murder of 16 people in Uromi.

He said the call to their arrest was based on intelligence reports, which allegedly charged them.

“The new criticism of them towards the Governor of Monday Okpebholo for traveling to the state canoeing to live with the families of the victims has further revealed their involvement in Uromi’s chaos,” he concluded.
