The Osun state government has rejected the claim that the influence of the Tinubu Bola President will secure victory for the Congress of all Progressive (APC) in the 2026 Governor Election, describing thinking such as wishful thinking.
Adeleke Ademola Governor Spokesman Olawale Rasheed issued a rebuttal on Monday in response to the comments of the former Chairman of the State Council Osun Timothy Owoeye, who allegedly called Adeleke as “Governor of Caregiver” during a radio interview in Osogbo.
Rasheed demanded a public apology from Owoeye, who stated that the statement was not polite to the governor and voters who chose him to take office.
“I think the former speaker must make revocation and apologize openly because he said what he said on a public radio station,” Rasheed said.
“Governor Adeleke was chosen popularly by people. There was a litigation in his selection until the Supreme Court and the High Court validated his election, and he was in a chair that manages well and provides democratic dividends to all people and,” Rasheed added.

He accused Owoeye for the bitterness of the achievement of the Adeleke government, including a road project that failed to be completed by the previous APC government.
“My conclusion is that Owoeye has a problem because of the dualization of the intersection of the palace beer, which cannot be done by their government for 12 years, has been carried out and almost completed by Adeleke.”
Rasheed also rejected the suggestion that the federal influence would determine the next election, stating that Osun voters would reject all efforts to damage their choices.
“If anyone thinks they will use federal power to come and Rig, the Tinubu Ball President is not ready to help anyone to Rig. Mr. President is a Democrat. The best you can do is go and campaign.”
However, Osun APC spokesman Kola Olabisi replied, accusing Adeleke’s panic camp for rapidly developing momentum.
“Saying President Tinubu will not help anyone to win the election which shows that they are restless and afraid of their shadows,” Olabisi said. “We thank God that President Tinubu is the APC leader in this country today, and whatever affects the party in Osun will not avoid the whole.”
He defended the comment “Governor of the Guard” Owoeye, clarifying that it was a prediction of APC returns that would soon occur.
“What is meant by the former speaker by saying Ademola Adeleke runs the guard government is that the government will be legally deleted by our votes during the next election,” Olabisi explained.
APC spokesman expressed confidence in Tinubu’s support, stating: “If he comes here to campaign for us, in a certain way, you know he supports us to ensure that we win the election. It will be his joy to see that we win the election.”
War of words -words indicated the early escalation of political tension ahead of the 2026 Governor’s race in Osun.
