The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged as the winner in the new Lagos Regional Government Election, sweeping all 57 leadership seats and won 375 out of 376 council positions in all states.
The Lagos State Independent Election Commission (LASEC), which announced official results on Sunday, confirmed that the ruling party maintains its political dominance by securing victory in all 20 regional government regions (LGA) and 37 areas of the development of the Local Council (LCDAS).
However, in a surprised surprise, the Democratic Party (PDP) opposition won a council seat in the Dang D from Yaba LCDA. PDP candidate, Babatunde Dosunmu – Former APC member who defected to the opposition party just before the election – defeated APC candidates to claim rare victory.
LasiC, when presenting the results, illustrates the election is mostly peaceful despite concerns over the number of low voters and accusations of irregular irregularities in the isolated area.
The chairman and member of the newly elected board are expected to be inaugurated at the end of this month.

With APC maintaining strong control at the grassroots level, political analysts said the results increasingly consolidated the influence of the party before the 2027 General Election.
